The Leadership Paradox

While our logical thinking processes are routed in either/or thinking, so much of leadership success depends upon inclusive, "and" based thinking. Leaders must hold the tension of opposites and enable creative expression to arise as a result.
  • As a leader, you must be responsible for results that you can’t always directly control.
  • As a leader, you have to hold a vision of possibility while also making sure that day-to-day business gets done.
  • As a leader, you need to feel confident in spite of your concerns and the concerns of your staff and shareholders.
  • As a leader, you have to embrace a positive attitude when surrounded by uncertainty.
  • As a leader, you must model optimism even in the face of uncertain conditions and bring out the best in those who look to you for direction.

My work with leaders and the leadership bound at any organizational level gnerally happens in one of two ways:

Working within the organization as part of a strategic planning process, leadership development program, or targeted coaching initiative.

Working directly with the client outside of the organization in which he/she leads or aspires to lead.
